I was wondering if anyone could recommend a sound moderator for a .22LR AR-15 ? Normal AR threading 1/2"x28 and relatively normal profile barrel (no crowbar).

I'm after something that looks good and that will last, not some plastic pos airgun mod thats been proofed and falls to bits after 100 rounds.

+1 on the SAK, great mods for the money. Its really not worth spending a fortune on a rimfire mod.

(and on a side note, sound moderators don't need to be proofed Adam)

Hello all. Is it true in GB you can walk right in a store and purchase a can?

Only if you have the authority on your license.
But that authority is easy to get and getting easier all the time

30 quid? bloody hell, the lowest cost one I could find in the USA cost me $185 and that was before the $200 tax and other transfer fees!

Once you have "asked for it, and it is included on your Firearms Certificate" then yes you can walk into a gun shop and buy one.... Full bore moderators are licensed in the same way as firearms, they have to be included on your certiflicate before you can purchase...

ETA  Mark beat me to it...  Voddy kicking in...

That is a damn nice looking rifle. I had to pay the price of the can and the $200 tax stamp and wait for 3 months to get approved.

In my limited experience, your cans in the US are grossly over-priced

I think I showed great restraint in not posting a picture of an American with a pair of grossly over-priced cans

Peter Lawman is doing 5.56 RG for the equivalent of $360/1000 rounds. Cheapest SS109 ammo on ammoman.com is $399 and they don't have it in stock.
