Classifying today

First detail 100m prone, on aim, 2 mags of 5, 1 round per 2 second exposure, to the head. No problem.

Second detail 50m sitting, low ready. 1 mag of 10, 1 round per 3 second exposure to the body. Oops!, put them in the head. Failed, do the entire classification again. Oh, alright then

I fail to see the problem here.
Surely the objective of the exercise is to 'neutralise the perp' and 10 to the head will achieve that.

ETA: I see now! you should have put a couple in the shoulder and missed once (I'm gonna cop hell for this)

Not at all. With carbine quals we get to keep going until we pass. When we used to have dedicated shoots with the AUG's, some unscrupulous persons (ie AFO's who actually like to shoot, yes there are a few of us!) would 'fail' by a shot or two, because you get to do the whole shoot again...but if you 'failed' more than twice the instructors would get a bit waspy...

That's Met quals, as the man recently said in court they have to get 70%. We are required to get 90%....
