I was wondering how similar High Power competions are to the Civilian Service Rifle ? Is it the same sort of thing with various distances/targets and movement, or more of a 'carry a ton of kit to the firing line and establish Everest base camp' ?

No movement in Highpower shoots, predominantly iron sights are used, targets are bullseye based, have a look here ......

Highpower is totally different from SR.
It's shot on bullseyes (American NRA targets) at 200, 300 & 600 yds and is a mixture of both slowfire and rapid fire stages.

Best thing to do if you're curious is to come along.
Next match is sunday 11th March at Bisley
