Mighty Antar (Dinky Toys)... I had one when I was a kid; still at my Dad's house somewhere if I want to dig.

From HERE.

This toy was in excellent condition with the original box. (Yes, I know the auction is finished on this one) Mine is less that perfect, I'm afraid, but I had fun with it.

I also had the Centurian Tank, the ambulance, the field gun, the Scammel recovery vehicle, and some sort of anti-aircraft gun. I always wanted the Saladin and the RAF tank truck, but I did have them in Matchbox form. They don't make them like they used to!

My two year old absolutely loves his Hot Wheels and Matchbox cars, but there doesn't seem to be much available in military vehicles.

As much as I loved these toys, the only fault I found with them was that they all had their drivers seated on the wrong side.

Nice.
I used to have all sorts of stuff like that, but they all succumbed to the air rifle

I've got one of these... Linky

You could only get the blue one by winning it in a Dinky comp - which I did!!

Still got it somewhere - although def not mint condition any more...

Been there and done that, used to buy airfix models of everything and do em, paint em and shoot em to smitherines. My dad refused to buy me them or give me money for them after he found out what I was doing.

I can still remember driving my chieftain MBT onto the Antar's before they got the scammel's.

PSSSSSSSSSSSSST! I was into action man, when he was a real soldier and not the PC puppet of today, and I had everything for my company of brave heros to help them achieve thier mission. Had the cheaper market version as red force's.

Nearly 300 Quid for a Dinky Toy?? I suppose that's for those who couldn't win one back then.
Nice that you still have yours and that it's rare.

Most of mine are from the '50s. My Dad even had some of his own which I never got my grubby mitts on (and hence are not all banged and chipped). He chose the Foden lorries; I think he has three different ones.

Some of my Matchboxes are the old type with the metal wheels and no chassis or interior.

Still, the British toys were considered "special" and were not to be played with outdoors.
Most of the sandbox toys are long gone.
