The subject is simple......... as are the the rules....

"Post the best picture, that you personally took, during 2006, that personifies shooting in the UK!"

As a guide, I am looking for photos that "big up" shooting in the UK.  It can be from a local club event, National Shoot or on a stalk somewhere in the Outer Hebrides .

Rules:-

  • Any shooting discipline.

  • No Photoshopping.  Sorry to those with the kung-fu to do it, I will learn in 2007

  • Any photos of groups of recognisable people, please be sure you have their permission to post..

  • Competition closes New Years eve (midnight) 2006.

  • The thread authors decision is final.

  • Winner to be announced by midnight 2nd January (should have recovered by then)

PRIZE:  A choice of an engraved tankard or a case of Nelson (Stella)

That is why i asked, i was just thinking of the 35+ UK crowd that went and competed.

I could show how UK shooters are able to compete in competitions up to continental championships, and all the fun that goes with such competitions.

My mistake, i should have rephrased my question to sound somthing like "Do you want the emphasis of the picture to be a Location in the UK, or UK shooters?"

That is the reason why I don't get to enter comp's like this, as I do most of my hunting and shooting in the deepest darkest part of Bavaria, and it just dosent apply itself to the rule's.

OK, here's a pic taken by me, it also led to a lot of debate regarding pistol calibre's
My .300 Whisper

Here's another one that led to a lot of "should you really have all those mags loaded?"

Here's another, although this pic was taken in AZ, it goes to show that although you would never see such sacrilege here in Blighty, there are people in other parts of the world who are equally bewildered by such mods as we are

Another UK ARFCOM favourite.....Thresher's 4 for £5 deal

Another one, although most of the kewl stuff is banned, there are those that adapt to overcome

That's all for now.

Later I will upload some shooting pics

Sorry, trying to keep it to this country as we have members on here that have shot all over the shop.....

ETA: No pun intended

Should you have all those mags loaded?  I feel that is a rhetorical question.  A mag without rounds in it is just a crappy paper weight.

I mean c'mon man!  What if zombies attack GBR again like in that documentary "Shaun of the Dead"??

I can't enter, but I enjoyed this thread nevertheless. I liked the one of the pair of dodgy-looking characters who obviously didn't appreciate being photographed. I guess you can take pictures of anyone you want as long as you're heavily armed.

BTW, I'd steer clear of any armorer who has a claw hammer as a part of his kit. Who knows... he probably has a pipe wrench in there, as well.

Right... and how long is the "cheater" on said pipe wrench??

About 3ft.

That is what's required to remove the barrel from a Remington action.
That and a fair amount of heat too
The factory put them on with far too much torque and Loctite.

Lot of tough choices to be made on this one..... Lot of good photos, but this one caught my eye from the outset....

The spirit of the British shooter, battling adverse conditions and still being mad enough to get a camera out in the 300 yard car park of Century in pissing rain....

Well done............ runner up (very close second) went to Paul and Jennys son photo by Streetfighter.... Close but no cigar....

Cheers guys another one on the way soon.....
