+ Points
It's compact
It's about to be suppressed
and
It's the only one

- Points
It does take practise to use.
It is not quite as fast as a lever action.
9mm is not as capable as the .30

Given a choice from scratch, without already owning my Sarnoy 9mm and all the ancillary kit.

I would go for the whisper.

My dad is the owner of THE one and only UK legal MP5. It was made from scratch as a straight pull weapon by H&K, although the police don't like it, so there won't be any more.

I don't know what is different to a normal MP5, as i have never taken one apart, but it has a 12" barrel, and 24" overall length (fixed stock with steel bar welded to the back of the frame.)

It is an awsome gun to shoot, and looks great on the wall. Although it doesn't get used often enough I will sort out a few pics in the next few days when i have time.

I was told that the reason the Police don't like it was that it falls into the readily convertible clause.
The roller locks / pins were simply 'swapped over' to stop the blow back.

Since these have to be easily changeable to allow for breakage, it's too easy to put Sect V one's back in.

Then there is the barrel / overall length problem, solved by USA 16" barrels or a fixed stock.

And finally there is the little matter of HK threatening to 'excommunicate' any agent that makes or supplies parts to make one.

I believe there is also some 'history' on the only one currently in the UK, as it originally had a Swiss passport and 'all that entails'.......

Yep…  It's pretty much impossible to make a Section 1 roller locking rifle. The G36 could be converted because it's a gas piston jobby though…

The 'UK' MP5 was a Brugger & Thomet one as I recall… naughty!

OK so we all know that there is only one UK MP5.
We also know that for obvious reasons, there won't be any more.
We also know that the 9mm AR is a no go for reasons that have been done to death.
And we all also know that these subjects have been thrashed to within an inch (25.4mm) of their lives.
But.......it seems to me that it is still a popular subject,soooooooo.....

There is someone amongst us who is determined to prove me wrong and has recently parted with some dosh to acquire one of the components necessary to build a magical 9milly.
Is this pure folly???? Folks, it will be up to you to decide.

The person in question probably wishes to remain anonymous, so in keeping with his wishes,I shall not mention who it is , but will remain impartial, wish the aforementioned nameless person good luck and will even travel to UKGuy's house, or home range to watch the 'beast' being put through it's paces.

Now, as for my challenge, there's only 39 days left.
Do you require an extension??

Well i say good luck to him, Even if he's not the number 1 AR gunsmith I say fair play to someone who'll give it a go.

We all think differently , and just because one brain cant solve the problem it doesnt mean another wont

If we all had this attitude, there wouldnt be much invention going on in the world !

Mark, i wouldn't want you to dirty your hands on something that you consider too Ghey now would I ??

plans have been drawn, calculations have been made, and then drawings have been modified to stop stress fracturing...

That is all...... for now...
