RFD House raided in operation Trident sting

Story looks interesting. Looks like he had some dodgy deals going on.

Maybe...maybe not!

Just seen it on the news, and the pictures showed the police taking a load of black powder pistols and ammo away. (He's an RFD don't forget.)

The policeman in charge said 'some will be legal and some won't be'

It wouldn't be the first time a dodgy RFD had been caught, but it also wouldn't be the first time that a non-dodgy RFD was raided...

ETA They just showed an 'M16' on the local news that they found - it was a .22LR....

I just watched the BBC report on the website.

Didn't see anything that leaped out as being "dodgy", but that was looking at a small sample of the guns in plastic bags from a fair distance, so I'm reserving judgement for now

I saw a SLR/FAL (looked like an L1A1) being taken out of his home on Sky news. Apparently this dude had connections with organised crime in New Jersey. Could be Russian Mafia.

What really pisses me off, is that somebody e-mailed sky news calling for a total ban on firearms.

I nearly bought a lever action shotgun from Mick Shepard a while ago, all seemed very above board to me.

www.micksguns.com is conveniently unavailable

Looking at the movie news.sky.com/skynews/video/videoplayer/0,,30100-whiteraids_130906,00.html there doesnt seem anything illegal in there.

If you have an armoured secure room its perfectly permissable to have as much live ammunition as you like "lying on the floor"

Interestingly he also has a sideline as an elvis impersonator which while odd isnt illegal either.

I'd personally be very surprised if the man I met was the yardies underworld armourer, I mean can anyone honestly believe the gangsters go to elvis for their hardware?

All of the stuff they've been showing on the TV is just .22s, shotguns, airguns and black powder pistols...

A BP pistol or muzzleloader will be classified as an AUTOMATIC assault weapon by the UK press.

It'll be very interesting to see where this goes...

No smoke without fire....sounds like he was involved somehow with supplying illegal guns but I bet a hell of a lot of what was confiscated will be legally held.

We'll see.

Webley air pistols

Shotguns

Don't see much wrong here, or on the TV news, or in any of the papers.
In fact all I saw were bona fide Sect 1 firearms.
The "M16 semi-automatic assault rifle" in the Mail was an Armi-Jaeger .22lr and the "Semi-Automatic rifle was in fact a Saiga .410 shotgun.

I'd be highly surprised if anything substantial comes out of this.

But.....trust everyone's friend and "firearms expert" Mike Yardley to come out in support of Mick Shepard in stating he was "a bit eccentric".

What a friend and expert that man is
I can't f**king stand the tosser (Yardley that is)

So let me get this straight...... they raided an RFD and found.....GUNS???

Well f#*k me, I bet the Ol' Bill didn't see that one coming

Next it will be a raid at Bisley where hundreds of more guns will be recovered, or maybe the Imperial War Museum, there's a frigging shed load there as well, may be someone should tip them off

And the Army, they've got shooters too and they actually train to kill people with theirs

All the 'weapons' I've seen in the pics are not prohibited, but his storage techniques might be suspect, guns were found "in every room of the house except the bathroom" - what's wrong with the bathroom?

As a dealer and a collector he could be allowed a large inventory, possible breach of storage conditions is a bit naughty, but if he was selling to yardies or other criminals then that's another matter.

Typical press sensationalising though, a .22 miniature rifle becomes a "M16 Assault Rifle as used by the American Military"! A self loading shotgun is suddenly a semiautomatic rifle, and then there's all the pistols (mainly air pistols and the odd black powder). And why mention the word lethal all the time, "lethal weapon", surely the word weapon implies it is lethal, but perhaps that's not understood by the uninformed sheeple who read the Mail and need to be told what to think.

He's been in court today on four charges, one for supplying illegal firearms, one for conspiracy to cause fear one for possesion of illegal firearms, and i cant remember the other one, Probably something to do with illegal rhinestone suits

They obviously have something on the guy but we'll have to see what he acctually get done for.

Steve

The above statement was from memory, so if it's not accurate, Tuff !

Scarily I think he IS actually a friend of Mick's they certainly shoot at the same club

I think he could probably do without friends like that, having said that there are an awful lot of eccentric people in the gun business, personally I think its down to the fumes from Youngs 303.

Sends em mad it does
