Do you know of anyone who does these for the AR in the UK. I know Bob does but he is asking nearly 100 quid. Would it be cheaper to get 1 from the USA and is any gunsmithing required to fit them?

If the chappies at www.ar15.co.uk can't oblige you could try Europe (£80-85) if you don't want to pay Fat Bobs ridiculous prices.

AFAIK it's a straight forward change over.

What you're looking for is the Accuracy Speaks adjustable butt plate.
To be honest, Bob's prices are pretty good.
Yes you can get one from the States (if they're willing to export these days) but it will only be cheaper if you "get away" with the duty.

Your call

I certainly don't mind paying Bobs price so long a i know i'm not paying over the odds, Thanks anyway Mark. By the way do you have any other Methuen cup photos past or present as i found them quite fascinating and would have certainly gone had i not been in Holland.

But surely it's better than resting on the stock?
and a little lift for scope use (A2 upper here")

any other ideas?...

Try one if you like, drop Matt a line, I'm sure he can get one for you.

The other option is to get a length of Picatinny rail, a hacksaw, file, milling machine, drills and taps and screws, then saw saw, mill mill file file, drill drill, tap tap and screw screw etc etc.

Pfft, 'adjustable' stocks…

As you're being all 'tactical' they are made by Cherokee and Fat Bob probably has them.

Phone him, 01208 851074, he will moan on for about the world for half an hour, then probably tell you it's out of stock but he should have some in the next 3 months or so…ish.

The cheap (DPMS/Cherokee or Masen) both are around £30 mark. If you've got the RRA stock they don't fit very well at all without some adjustments, but if you have a copy of the Colt/CAR style then you're OK. (Can't remember what you have, but I think it's the Colt copy).
