Went out this morining for a little impromtu shoot in the desert. Thought you Gents might like to see our surroundings. Here's Beagle747 unloading a Beta c-mag...Unfortunately ,I was only able to capture one spent case. hahaha That was fun, Actually those pics were taken inside a FATS (firearms training simulator) building. Wall to wall video screens playing various scenario's. The guns are real, they're linked to a pneumatic system to simulate the recoil etc. Mark edited to remove location |

I'm going there on friday, taking my BIL from the peoples republic of Maryland. hope it cools down some, it was 114f yesterday and 93f when I left the house at 5am this morning. |
Man that's too hot. Last time I experienced temperatures like that was when I lived in Qatar some years ago. Here, it's touching the 90's at the moment and it's sticky. At least you've got a "dry heat"  Mark |
you get used to it, I grew up in Rugby, Warwks and moved out here in '91. the first year it's a bitch but then your blood thins out and it's more bearable, my kids don't even notice it. I talked to my dad on sunday in Rugby and he was complaining about the heat too. later, Alex |
Yeah, I know what you mean about getting used to the heat. As I said, when I lived in Qatar, I used to mess about in the desert and the heat was never a problem, but I've been back here so long now, I'm just as unused to it as everyone else. It is sticky, but I'm not going to complain Mark |

Taffy, you've got to start somewhere....I started here. This is one that I "captured" on the 1st leg of the HRA's world tour   Now, I know that you and James both want to join an orderly queue, but there is a waiting list that's as long as a long thing... We get all kinds of requests and proposals, and although it's hard at times, we have to turn them down. This is a pic of one of my biggest fans, and we even had to turn her down   It's a hard life (sigh) Mark

You've now just jumped ahead of Elucidate in the queue Had my parcel of bits turn up today, sorry no bayonet lugs, but so you know what they look like here's a picture I took earlier;  I thought the A2 (Greenie Meanie) had a lug, but alas not, so it just has to sit there looking cool  , The carbine doesn't have a flash hider as I've just taken the can off and I cannot be bothered to find it.

Ooooh, what was I in the queue for? Was it something nice? Or something evil and black? Anyway, I'm not happy at this Taffy now being ahead of me in the list, but I have a severe lack of me playing with things. I was Anti-Tank and fired a MILAN but funnily enough, never got a picture. I've got 'some' pictures though... Me, in Russia, on training. We had just landed, and were waiting for the Russian Mafia to be paid off before we could continue...  This is me, doing something cool. Well, it was refreshing anyway. For me at least. Next man in nearly died when it rose up and tried to eat him ;-)  And this should take me back to the top of the list. No pictures were allowed but I snuck this one. We did a whole load of very cool training with the Spetsnaz and fired RPG's, Dragunovs, AK's and Makarovs and things, then did a shooting competition (which we won). Anyway, best not let the commies see this or they'll lock me up:  Am I back on the list now, what was it for again? Dave |
