Well, it's been a while since I posted in this thread, so it's about time for an update. This past weekend, the HRA held it's "Nationals". This was our Highpower Rifle and club Championships. Three days of shooting involved zeroing on Friday, Service Rifle on saturday and Highpower Rifle on sunday. With 24 shooters on both weekend days, the matches were well attended and very competitive. Saturdays SR match was run over 9 stages at 100, 200, 300 and 500yds. After a good start I was actually managing to lead after all stages up to and including 300yds. But then I crashed and burned at 500 due to misreading the wind again  ACR26 took the win with 414pts, (including a 50 max at 500) and fellow UK Arfcommers Scope-Eye 4th on 392, Target-Hunter 5th with 381 and myself 6th with 375pts. Bunnyassassin was 11th with 337. Sunday's Highpower was a US NRA sanctioned match and provided some very competitive shooting with high scores. I managed to win the 200yd offhand(91 & 96) and rapid stages(94 & 99) but the new kid on the block, JMH was chasing me hard and shot a better 300 rapid than me, and in the process cleaned the 1st part of the stage with a 100-5X, so by the end of 300 we were even, on 572 although John had the slight advantage on X count. The match was decided at 600yds. I shot a 89 & 94, but John shot 91 & 94 to beat me by 2pts with overall scores of 757.14x vs 755.07x. Scope-Eye was 4th with 734, ACR26 5th on 733 and a PB and Target-Hunter was 7th with 722 for another PB. Bunnyassassin finished 16th with a borrowed rifle on 646, so not too shabby. Overall ACR26 is this years HRA club champion, so well done to him. Next dates are: Saturday 5th November...Blue Team PR match at Bisley. This is run by the Met Police shooting club. Sat/Sun 26/27 November at ALTCAR This will be a two day double header with Highpower on saturday and PR(SR cof) on sunday. So all you Scally's and Scousers have no excuse!!!
