Weekly report from Wednesday 29th of July to Tuesday 4th of August New positive tested: 2588 (+1259 compared to previous week) Deaths : 6 (-3 compared to the previous week) New ICU admissions: 44 (+21 compared to the previous week) What can I say virus seems pretty much out of control amoungt the younger population. Older people seem more carefull. Some cities (not my The Hague) now require masks when out in public in the CBD/shopping zone. ICU admissions and deaths don't seem as bad as the fist time. Were in a bit of heatwave so the beaches here are packed. Lot of people travel to here by public transport as our Communists hate parking spaces so I cant imagine how that is.  Atmosphe is pretty chil and people don't seem that worried. |

Wife expects the total death toll (taken from the beginning) to be higher than the Dutch official number becuase in the first weeks a very large number of deaths got missed (and now mostly impossible to determin) Currently we are on a quite a steep rise in infectiions and my surroundings have had a metric ton of tourists (mostly) from Germany. Multiple hours of trafficjams in 32C the city to the extent I have to avoit taking the car for in city trips. |

We are in to fase 3 of vaccine trials. Justice Minister got caught at his wedding not abiding with the 1.5 meter distance rule bacause of a wedding group foto outside. He paid the 300 something Euro fine. While I usually despise our justice ministers for being freedom hating knife/gun/AOW banners this one has yet to ban anything so he can do no wrong IMO   |

Strangely it's been going quite wel here since the beginning and I've had little inconvenience from anything, in fact it was better than normal. Other cities with major outbreaks have had mask rules etc., nothing like that here yet but I might still get to wear my 'Nuc-li-ar war toe to to with the Ruskies' outfit in public. |

After the fist week of school my son was sick in the weekend and 2 days later i was sick in bed for 3 days. Wife has been fine BUT by pure coincidense she had a some work related Hepatitus booster shot 2 weeks earlier so her immune system might have been functioning above normal or something. No idea if it was Corona as we had a testing breakdown just as I was sick. Vaccine trials here were doing ok but they were (temp) stopped due to a (probably unrealted) infection in one of the volunteers. |

Good thing is it seems to be mostly young people as old people seem much more carefull. Our justice minister now has a felony criminal record for ignoring the corona rules at his wedding. So we now have a felon who cant own a gun directing people with guns and determining if I am allowd to have a gun The concicted felon jusice minister is also the only one that issue the ultra rare CCW license here. Might apply for one next week for some shits and giggles in court (although there is zero chance of it being issued) |

The next couple of weeks will be crucial in determining the extent of this "2nd wave". There was a huge spike after the bars/nightlife ect opened back up so we in a shitty (partial) lockdown again. No eating out. No team sports. No Alcohol and cannabis after 20:00 Shops closed after 20:00 (except food) And more shitty stuff. While it has or wil have next to no impact on myslef the economy in general wil suffer. |
