Hi Guys,

can any Germans or anybody else for that matter confirm if the German Autobahn shooter used a firearm or a airgun ?

For those who don't know the story is HERE

Background to this:

Dutch weapons laws suck but one of the only OK things is that there are no restrictions on airgun caliber or power.

So in 2011 we had a big hype about a freeway shooter here and because of this various factions here went on TV and called for a ban on powerful airguns because they claimed an airgun could have been used. The story of the German guy also came up  and it was proposed the German scumbag could also be using a Dutch airgun, conclusion : ban airguns of course.

I had my doubts of course because the shooter was shooting out the windows of the cars and never hitting the bodywork and was never seen and would have had to do this from the side of the road (sometimes no other cars near).
after technical analysis the conclusion was that there was no shooter as no bullets or pellets were ever recovered  and there and the cause was most likely loose stones on the freeway and the Dutch freeway shooter never existed.

This is if the German shooter turns out to have used a firearm (and the article does speak of firearms an d ammo) I just want to rub the noses of those who wanted the airgun ban in it.

Thanks Mike. problem was that reports just listed the calibers and they sell 9mm airguns (and every other caliber for that matter) here.

Anyway seeing as they found firearms I just rolled with it and spanked the guy for his past stupid statements.

Hope the Airgun stuf is off the table for now although we still have a stupid rule that airguns cant be optical copies of firearms but we are hoping get rid of that one.

You are welcome Iggy.

Ze Germans had that too, called the "Anscheinsparagraph". No BB gun or even real gun could look like a .mil weapon. They dropped that a couple of years ago, now people can turn their old gray H&K SL8 into a G36 clone (without the 3rd position on the fire selector) or get a Daisy air rifle that looks like a M4.

Ik duim voor je!

Goede namiddag!

I like how they started to get worried when he went up to a 9mm.  So before that, meh.

Didn't know Germany had that rule in the past pretty retarded but the Dutch still win because a airgun cant resemble ANY known firearm produced at any point in history,

So this is banned

But a airgun with power levels near 9mm range is GTG for shooting in and around the home.

The funniest thing of all is that those who support the resemblance ban claim the need it to stop armed robbery's, this in a country mind you were the court had been hit with multiple RPG strikes over the years.

I also fount the article funny .22 =Meh, 9mm=OMG. Wonder why the guy changed .22 would be fine and less chance of being caught (easier to suppress)  for the retarded stuff he was doing.

Yeah, the Germans were just as retarded until a couple of years ago. :-/

Red Ryder... Nice! I had one back in the States 30 or 35 years ago. Miss that little thing, lotsa fun...

.22lfb is bad ass. The Mossad used it for assassinations and I know a guy that used one in Saigon during the Vietnam war to take care of VC informants in crowded bars in the city. He didn't even used a silencer, there are other, cheaper and legal ways to make it quiet.

European gun laws in Europe are a joke in general. Hard core criminals will always find a way to obtain firearms and no law is going to stop them.
