| I was browsing the french forum and seen a lot of guys there use supressors and such. Being that I dont speak a lick of french I really cannot ask them if they have their own $200 tax stamp and licensed dealer they have to go through and a big registration process to follow. What are supressor laws like in europe and where is this fabled place where you can buy a supressor no strings attached in Europe on the same tab you buy your beer and cigarettes? |
Yup... same here. No restrictions at all. |
|
We do appear to get "the shaft" where things like this are concerned.... We have to request them to be added to our Firearms certificates and show "just cause" (although noise abatement seems to be always accepted)... ..... What types are available? Manufacturers etc? Just interested to see if you have the same models available.... We have Jet-Z, BR, SAK, PArker & Hale, Wildcat..... |
AU, SAK, BR-Tuote, Sako, Take-paja etc. are probably the most popular. Non-finnish supressors are quite rare. |
| No legal tape for a Swiss guy to go on a hunting trip in Finland, buy a supressor and bring it home with him? Any import/export taxes if you were to buy one on vacation and bring it to your home country, or restrictions traveling by car with personal firearms and equipment? |
u'll end up spending time in the local jail... buying such devices is for the local citizens... |
Buying a suppressor in Finland does not require any licences and the export of civilian suppressors does not require a licence. But the users responsibility is to comply with his local laws and it would be ill advised for a Finnish dealer to sell to customer, that lives in a country, where he knows that suppressors arent allowed, for example. |
As for Norway, the only requirement is to hold a firearms permit for the gun you want to suppress. There is no registration of suppressors. |
