Is there any FAL experts/builders in the Las Cruces area. or even the Albuquerque area. my job has me going to Albuquerque about once a month. I actually have to go up there on Monday and come back Tuesday
I recently acquired a FAL in a trade deal. I was told that the gun had excessive headspace and needed a new locking shoulder. The gun came with a broken shell in the barrel. I took it to our local "gunsmith" (and I use that word in the broadest sense in the word) to remove the broken shell as I didn't have a broken shell extractor. while I was there I asked him to check the headspace. so he dropped in a 308win field gauge and let the bolt SLAM home by hitting the bolt release. I'm not a gunsmith but I know that is not how a competent person uses the gauge. I got my gun and left. Anyway, I need to see if there is someone local who is willing to lend a hand to a new FAL owner. I want to be sure that I am getting the correct size LS. I have build almost a dozen ARs but the FAL is all new to me. Thanks |

Only thing I have left are a few spare parts that I'm needing to round up and get rid of. I don't know if he still frequents this forum anymore, but username 'Mcdobber' is your best bet for FAL around these parts. |
