| 40+ yrs here in Alb, and never been to the public shooting range. What are the Pros and Cons? With the skyrocketing price of fuel, traveling to the Family Ranch( 11/2 hr drive) just to testfire my AR Pistol doesn't seem economical. So any members have any range time at the park? |

If you are going to go, do it on a weekday. Weekend gets crowded and the range officers make you sit next to a dangerous buffoon. Always some idiot trying to adjust sights/fingerbang their weapon during cease fires.
There are several of us here that go to Zia quite often. I'm sure one of us would be more than willing to spend a few hours with you there. |

I've been once. It was a joke. You are stacked next to each other so no room to breath. The guy next to me complained about my brass going his direction. The RO got pissed when I started to pack up and put my cased gun into my range bag. I guess it is a no go to have gun not on the fireing line. It was 15 to 20 min of shoot and 10 to 15 min of cease fire.
There are many here that go else where. I guess it is time for anothe NMHTF shoot. MAHA |

I put up a brass screen during a ceasefire and got an earful.. but to be honest, the range officers seem to have a stick up their ass..
