boss lady told me when the house is paid off (March) can get me my AR.....really want an AR-10.
any thoughts about this

One thing to remember is feeding an AR10 will cost more than an AR15. You will end up with more than one AR. You can build them and get the parts you want now for a better price instead of buying one than upgrading it later. As far as AR10's I haven't dealt much with them, if you want to shoot some AR15 let me know I have some that I built that will give you an idea of what is possible.

I don't have an AR-10 so I might be bias but I would go AR-15. The ammo is cheaper to shoot and you have more options when it comes to personalizing it (from what I understand you are limited on rails with a 10?). Plus, if you start with a 15, you might be able to get the wife out shooting with you and convince her that you need to get/build one for her
