Well i'm going to be heading down to Farmington to do some camping and off-roading here soon.
I know my CO permit is valid in NM, but are there any other laws i should be aware of as far as carrying is concerned? Is there anywhere to shoot around the Farmington area (public land)? I was thinking about bringing down a few rifles and shooting while i'm camping, but that isn't really a priority on this trip. Any problems transporting rifles around the state and camping? Looking forward to visiting the area, i hear it's beautiful. Thanks fellas. |

Thanks fellas. no carrying in restaurants that serve alcohol (hopefully that will change before too long) plenty of shooting around farmington. just make sure you are on BLM land and not in one of the designated recreation areas http://www.blm.gov/nm/st/en/fo/Farmington_Field_Office.html where are you camping? |

Thanks fellas.
I wouldn't have any problems with having an AR in my truck anywhere around the Farmington area then i take it? No can do for Saturday, that's the first day of wheeling I think we're camping at a place called Choke Cherry Canyon last i heard? I didn't make any of the plans for this trip, just going with the flow. |

Now there is no official shooting within the Glade boundries (i have before and never had any problems) but if you want to be sure just make sure you are outside of the boundries per this map http://www.blm.gov/pgdata/etc/medialib/blm/nm/programs/recreation/rec_docs.Par.57110.File.dat/brochure_map_2.pdf no worries about the AR in the truck, just keep the ammo away from the gun just in case you do get stopped |
