They really are going after those who trap and release feral hogs for hunting.

Yeah,  from what i get from skimming it, they're saying the only good hog is a dead hog, get a license, get permission,  kill em all, release em and we'll rape you.

I think you're still okay without a license on Private land.  Not on Public land anymore however.

Is it just me, or does it look like the regs for public land have been amended to, "any time" and "by any means necessary"?

Which part?  The only other part I see is this:

(c) A feral hog captured by any means in accordance with subsection (a) of this section
shall be immediately:
(1) Killed; or
(2)(A) Permanently identified by eartag approved by the Arkansas Livestock and Poultry Commission and transported to a
terminal facility that  is certified by the commission.

The above is under the Public Land part.

2-38-502. Capturing and Killing feral hogs

     (a) A person  may capture or kill a feral hog only as follows:

     (2)(A) On public land if:

         (i) Allowed by landowner (WTF?); and

(ii) The person possesses a valid Arkansas hunting license and complies with Arkansas hunting regulations.

With the possible exception of the WTF, that reads to me like a blanket legislative mandate to "kill 'em all."

I think there are several places in the regs now where AGFC refers to themselves as landowners.   I think I posted about this in another recent thread.   How can AGFC be a Landowner?

Not fucking possible.  Stewards, yes. Landowners, fuck no.

Which is why the Legislature needs to reel them back in a bit.    QUITE a bit.

Not the way I read it.    Most of the WMA's listed in the book pertaining to hogs reads "it is unlawful to hunt, possess, or release live feral hogs on WMA's.  However, feral hogs may be taken during bear, deer, or elk firearms season with weapons legal for those season on the following: (listed WMA's)"

Basically the way I understand it,   You can't hunt hogs on those WMA's unless during deer bear elk firearm season.   No taking hogs with a bow,  no shooting hogs with a 22 magnum during squirrelly season,  or with a 223 during coyote season.

One thing that struck me odd,  was no mention of non agfc controlled/owned public land.   Such as ouachita national forest.   It's public, but no guidelines for hunting or taking hogs there.

Honestly I think these new rules are retarded.  They want to complain about feral hogs, but limit they way we can hunt them.   What's the difference if I want to kill one during squirrel season or deer season?     If that's the game they wanna play,  I don't wanna hear no bitching about hogs,  maybe when the WMA's start getting over run with hogs,  theyll quit making up these dumbass rules.

I'm glad I hunt on private land! Just kill them all!!! And eat them!

I only have a few packs of sausage from last years kills left!  Just this last weekend cooked my last roast in a sweet apple barbeque in the crock pot on low heat for 8hrs!  Damn it was good and tender!
