| Are pigs really a problem in this area? I bought some land (35 acres) near Beaver Lake, and the owner swore he had never seen hide nor hair of any pigs. I have camped on the land, and hiked nearly every square foot of it. I never saw ANY signs of pigs, although there were numerous signs of deer. Do pigs not like steeper land? Do they not like Beaver Lake? Are Pig Problems over-blown? |

I've owned property in NW Madison County for about 5-6 years now. in that time I've managed to see only one wild hog on camera, and he was a big bastard.
We had a very dry summer a couple years back. Our land has a spring fed pond that stayed wet that entire summer. It served as an oasis for wildlife during the dry months. I only saw two hog wallows in the pond bank that summer. It's hard to say if those wallows would be ferrel hogs or somebody's domestic that got loose. For now I'm glad we don't have the kind of infestation that can be found in the Southern part of AR. |

Yes, on private land that you own or lease the hunting rights, you can hunt hogs 24/7/365.
On State land, you must use a weapon that is legal for whatever game is in season at that time and it must be during daylight hours. I forget whether dogs are allowed or not...think not. |

There is no issue with using a light, I am ASSuming? What about NVG? |
| Light and nvg are ok for pig hunting. And suppressors are ok also. I suggest calling the agfc hotline and notifying them that you will be out pig hunting after dark and your locations. Otherwise if we get a call and show up and you are spotlighting it may be a little difficult to explain. |

Would an explanation be necessary, considering that this activity would take place on my own 35 acres? All of my hunting will be suppressed as I don't own any rifles that I shoot unsuppressed, unless I take the shotgun after something. |

That's up to you to determine the risk of your neighbors reporting a night hunter to AG&F. If they can't hear your shot, then I doubt they would call. That said, 35 acres ain't much for hunting. Do I need to notify or I will be guilty of something, or is it just to simplify? My main desire is to eradicate hogs if they show up. So 35 acres is all I'm worried about. Deer are all over it but that's a daytime activity. |

I hear the occasional story of pigs in NWA but most of them are from Madison county. I'm not sure if that's a play on words, but it made me ![]() Possibly because of... It is just to simplify. We are pretty understanding as a law enforcement organization. But it is much easier to notify first than to explain later. I already made contact with the Benton County Sheriff office, as that is the LE with jurisdiction in my area if I am not mistaken. I am going to be outside city limits of Garfield. My address is constantly disputed as Rogers/Garfield, but the consensus seems to be "Garfield". I was impressed that they understood what a Form 4 was off the bat, and how to Constitutionally deal with one. They seemed very professional and squared away. They told me that I could shoot to my heart's content on my land, so long as safety was kept in mind. |

He also volunteered a Saturday to instruct and teach a fundraising CHCL class, which raised a good amount of money for our local fire department last year. There was one of the Major's from BCSO which helped him with the class as well. Both of them were very knowledgeable about NFA stuff, and the rights of citizens. |

The Pea Ridge chief of police Ledbetter just said that "he would look into it" and then he would never return any of my calls; it was so bad that I had to get the Mayor involved in order to get a ride along set up. I haven't got to the place of looking elsewhere for a signature since financial stuff came up but it is good to know! |

I am annoyed at idiots who carry around an m4 at the mall just so they can video an officer "accosting them while exercising their 2a". However, I do take my rights seriously and am glad to see that the local law enforcement does as well! |
