Spent May 5-17 at Baptist in LR, several of those days in ICU.
Docs are saying it was viral menengitis and encephalopathy. All started with stroke like symptoms. Over about 8 min, the right side of my body went numb and I started having trouble talking. Off to the ER. Admitted to ER late on May 5th, started running tests immediately. CAT, MRI, then an angiogram. Last thing I remember was being on the table for angiogram at about 2pm on Tuesday, May 6, then woke up clueless in the ICU on May 8. I still have way more questions than answers, but apparently I'm lucky to be alive. Finally got released on Saturday, May 17. Memory is pretty foggy, but getting better. Wife never left my side and have had plenty of out of town family come in. Sitting here right now doing my 3rd anti-viral IV treatment of the day at home. The line in my arm should come out Thursday. I'm only 30. Shit. |
