There is a Facebook profile discussion group. Today I see this posted by someone there:
Ok I spoke with Chief Davis of NLR PD and again, he seems like a great guy. Here is the take- If you aren't acting out of normal and have an open gun, he has convinced me that you will not have issues. If they get a call from someone scared reporting a gun, they are probably gonna come see you. Be open and put your hands in the air and be respectful. It will not result in arrest. Don't be a jerk. He said he just got off the phone with a chief Thomas from Little Rock and they see it the same way. He said do not let anyone TRY to get arrested for now as a test case - to let some time pass and let the public get accustomed to seeing guns and he thinks this will all be ok. He said three different times that time is our friend and will help this. He said the guy at Wendy's Saturday came off as trying to want the cops to see his gun on purpose stretching and yawning and they knew the gun was there and thought he was acting strange is the only reason they called the LT. It would seem Open Carry is getting some much needed traction in the state. |

I have been wondering for a while if most folks are only carrying open at the walks for now, or are they doing it on an everyday basis? For the most part yes but on the Act 746 Facebook page there are many posting they are indeed Open Carrying along with pics and reports. They are reporting where and when they are OCing and their experiences. I think this is beginning to multiply exponentially. |
