Im attempting to build a PRS with the upper that I have. DPMS upper with the mini-SASS bbl. With that in mind:
I need to raise the scope, which would you prefer- riser or higher rings? Also, which stock? Currently has a collapsable. I would rather not the A2 stock, and aint got the moneyses fer a PRS. IS there a cheaper option that is decent? I know the ACE is popular, but I have no experience except with an A2. Also, since Ill have to get a new buffer/spring and tube, are there any real differences in all the low mass, high mass and unicorn shit impregnated ones? I'm sure the unicorn shit one is the best, but... Thanks! Edited for more info. |

If this if for an AR15 then "Rings" only aren't the best choice. You can't position the scope far enough forward for proper eye relief. AR10 style generally will work however. I use a GG&G GS1 one piece base on one of my guns. Works great. With the GS1 I can position the rings slightly more forward offering proper eye relief. They extend past the upper receiver over the barrel/hand grip.
As far as the PRS stock I used to think I needed one but from what I've read most simply don't need it. Maybe it seems more like a novelty. I have an ACS on one of my guns and I like it but feel any of the cheaper Magpul stocks would work just as well. |

Primary Arms makes some really nice scope mounts for ARs and they are on sale right now (~$50).
