A little local action on Colonel Glenn

Little Rock Police Department spokesman Sgt. Cassandra Davis said a white male entered the Medic Pharmacy at 6221 Colonel Glenn Road at 3:52 p.m., jumped over the counter and stole an unknown amount of prescription drugs. While the suspect tried to flee, the store owner pulled a gun from behind the counter and shot at him. Davis said the store owner told investigating officers that a bullet struck the suspect in the back. The suspect purportedly fled north on Colonel Glenn Road. Davis said he was wearing a white baseball cap, white shirt and dark jeans. |

Is the store owner going to be in trouble for shooting the perp in the back? I think homeowners can get in trouble for shooting a fleeing suspect. This. It isnt self-defense if the guy is running away from you. yes, but someone can turn in a split second as well... or the perp could have turned around and faced someone else and was a threat to them... there are ways to get shot in the back and it's justified until the details come out, there's no way to ever pre judge fairly. |

They should be fair game as long as they're within range. If jurors would rule that way, then prosecutors would stop filing such repugnant charges against folks that defend themselves. |
