I just got an e-mail today from Lt. Gentry at ASP. Lower price for the back ground check with new or transfer licenses. Not much savings, but every little bit helps!! Especially in these times when prices are going up!

Notice of price reduction on FBI checks and notice of deadline for acceptance of incorrect amount. NOTICE OF FBI FEE CHANGE FOR NEW AND TRANSFER CONCEALED HANDGUN CARRY LICENSES Effective on and after March 19, 2012, the fee for the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) fingerprint based background check will be $16.50 instead of $19.25. Mailed-in New Concealed Handgun Carry License applications will be $141.50 AFTER JUNE 30, 2012, THE MAILED IN CHCL APPLICATIONS THAT DO NOT HAVE THE CORRECT AMOUNT WILL BE RETURNED FOR THE CORRECT AMOUNT. PRIOR TO THAT TIME, THE DIFFERENCE WILL BE REFUNDED (IN MOST CASES). On-line New Concealed Handgun Carry License applications will be $147.25 This price will automatically change on the website. www.arkansas.gov/chcl ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Concealed Handgun Carry License Transfer applications will be $76.50 instead of $79.25. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ The fee for mailed- in CHCL renewal will not be affected by this change and will remain $60.00.
