So I was reading todays paper and say a headline "previously undetected fault could cause major damage". The fault runs in eastern arkansas from south of forrest city to helena-west helena and according to the us geological survey has in in the past (assuming way past) has produced earthquakes from 7.0 to 7.9. The most recent on this fault was a 2.6 in aug of 08. The article also said this fault is NOT connected with the new madrid system
Don't have a scanner to scan the article...dr haydar al-shukri of UALR in conjunction with the us geo survey is the group that led the study. Damn this is in my AO...ain't it a bitch |

So wait, they didn't know it was there, but know its made earthquakes up to 9.0? Makes perfect sense to me. Posted Via AR15.Com Mobile I am guessing the US geo society has ways to determin quakes in the past, I dunno, I am guessing here. The paper didnt say how they found that out, only that the fault has produced em in the past |
