no tools are required to clean an AR other than a good rod, bore guide, a jag, and some cloth scraps. scraping carbon off of anything is unnecessary, per E. Stoner himself. carbon buildup in the gas system is self limiting... just ignore it. focus your attention on keeping debris out of the firing pin channel and the extractor assembly and you will be fine.

Pretty much. I shoot 90% suppressed and have still never had anything 'clog up' with carbon buildup. |
