How many of chuckle heads own an AK 47 or variant? Thinkin I want one. |

arsenal's are ok. i have a milled one. if your wanting to get into them buy a cheap wasr and send it to Jim Fuller at rifle dynamics. for $350 he does great work on them and come out with a nice rifle in the end. i just got back a 74 from him and the work is very good.

| here is a link to there web site Jim Fuller they do some really good work. i sent of a wasr 2 kit to him to have it built. i had it built on a elk river recever. they put it toghter put his rear right on it. put moy over park for the finish. its a great looking finish they do on them. they test fire and sight them in then take them apart again and make sure everything is right. it was a wait but well worth it. there some good pictures on the web site some some of the cool stuff they do. i would like to get some of there front end work done. they put on a diffrent gas block and sight. |

there some pretty good priced ones now. you can get one for $400 and go have fun. the 74s are the best deal going now. you can get 2,160 rounds to your door for $275 or less. you can get a cheap 74 and a couple mags for $369. now is the time to get one if your looking. the prices are low

Quoted: Quoted: If I was gonna get one it would be the arsenal. Why 5.45? Corrosive. I want big bullets!!!! Because it's better. Clean your weapon. 7.62x39 is a shitty round. If you want big bullets get a FAL or M1A. Note: I own a 47 ![]() Seems like I noticed you sellin some 7.62x39 ammo on the EE. Is the gun next? |
| Love them! If your going to buy one the Hungarian FEG (standard model not the AMD) is overall the best that I have shot. It can be pricey if it is a Kassnar import but certainly worth the coin. You can do anything with it, except make it into a sniper rifle. However my 5.56 Nato AK 's will group respectably. Haven't shot the 5.54's decided I didn't need another cartridge to keep up with. I have some home builds that are outstanding (not built by me LOL) it depends on the parts kit used its quality and of course the ability of the builder. In the past the best deals on AK's used to be found on AKForum.net there are also an incredible number of knowledgeable people on there that like to answer questions. The Romaian guns (WASR) are among the cruder examples available the Romanian SAR's are a step up the Romaian Guards, kit built guns, are better. The Arsenal Bulgarians are good guns the Saiga Legions are nice! If you decide to buy a Russian Saiga make sure that it has the bullet guide installed. Ironically the Saiga won't be able to use AK mags without one. Buy with confidence from Red Jacket, Krebs, Russian American Armory. Atlantic Firearms has a great selection of AK's to choose from. More info than you probably wanted but it didn't cost you anything more than the time to read it! |

aim has the slg21 for $699.
it comes down to how much you want to spend and whats ur looking for. the wasr run great. just dont look as nice as a higher end gun. but the good thing about the AKs is they run great. even the cheap ones. they also will eat any ammo and run good on cheap surplus mags. if you have not been around one maybe pick up a cheap one and play with it. then if you like it buy another higher end one later on. stuck |

I bought some 545 ammo when it was stupid cheap. I didn't even have a rifle chambered for that round at the time. I converted a Bulgarian 74 barrel into an AR barrel and built an AR with it. I then found a TANTAL kit for a small price and bought it. I recently built the kit into a rifle and am awaiting another Bulgarian kit and NoDak receiver to build it on. I have no desire to build a "go to" gun out of these AK kits. I just wanted a fun gun that is cheap to shoot. So far, I am pleased. My Go to guns are FN FALs. |
|
the price is good on the 545 with the way people are loosing there jobs and everything sliding down. maybe ammo will come down a little more. hey it would be a nice thought. the cernture guns that are coming out are getting a lot better looking. lot less problems then before. arsenal bring theses guns out cheap has made centure step up some and do some work. hopefully it will stay this way. there is a dvd that goes over how to fix ur wasr with out a lot of tool. pretty much just ur cleaning kit and a hammer. if ur getting it for the end of the word. you will have better luck finding 7.62 ammo then 5.45.
eather way you go. buy as much as you can of the cheap ammo and mags. they just work. its great. stuck |
|
probly better to start on the bottom. get a wasr. shoot it love it then keep shooting. take care of it. then later grabe something nicer. each steep you will be happy. its never fun starting at the top and working your way down, who ever does the build is the main thing. if its built good from a good builder your good to go. try not to worrie at firs dont worrie about what country. there all AKs some from better places but most have been cut in half per atf. so it comes down to who can build them.

anyone who doesnt like ak's is an idiot! lol! jk! I like all guns. ALL guns! I have both. The ak is more reliable but not as accurate. I like the 7.62x39 round in my opinion because of the bigger thump when it hits. Your opinion is countered by fact And the reliability myth has been destroyed in the years since 'nam.
