3 types of people in this world. sheep, wolves and wolfhounds. The wolf hound doesn't give a damn about the sheep, past the fact that hanging around them gives the him a chance to rip a wolves throat out.

Blackbear. I give a shit not about any of the above and would eat any/all of them as necessary to protect my own den/clan. Not to mention, I'd just sit over in the treeline, strong and quiet, watching it all play out... (right up until I found it necessary to eat one/some/all of the other players) |

You miss the point brudda. Someone said that to me this morning and I kinda laughed. Then I got to thinking about it and got it. Weak people that refuse to even attempt to be prepared for anything (think pacifists) induce the same feeling as a liberal that wants to turn this country into the ussr.
I was wacthing something on tv the other day about the Heller and Mcdonald cases. On tv there was a couple. She stated that she could just tell a rapist she had aids and he'd leave. And that if one had a gun, the rapist would just take it and kill them. Her husband, said he'd rather watch his wife be raped than shoot an attacker because one has to take the moral high ground. A lot of people are passive untill they see how evil man can be. My wife is one of those people, even after being with me for so long. Now, she'll still put a mag into somebodys chest/face if they need it, but she might wait a few seconds longer than I would. The thoughts of people like Dan talked about.... well, its basically sickening. I dont know how we went from the tough hardasses of WW1 & 2, through the tough hardasses of ROK and Vietnam, and still ended up with the 2.5 generations of douche bag nutjobs we have now. |

just saying what you are a slightly different way. as far as your examples, unfortunately this is getting more the norm for our society people are going full retard and chastising others who refuse to join them in their trip to idiocy I keep a small place in my heart that says that the bulk of common man can't have reverted to this level, but it's a damn small place that I store my optimisim in lately. |

The whole world is becoming this way. Look at the troubles we have extraditing criminals who deserve the death penalty. Many forms of corporal punishment are losing their place in modern society, at least in public view. It's funny but the smarter "we" seem to be with sociological issues and treating them the worse our society becomes. That's why we have to fall back to what John Stewart Mill has to say: War is an ugly thing, but not the ugliest of things. The decayed and degraded state of moral and patriotic feeling which thinks that nothing is worth war is much worse. The person who has nothing for which he is willing to fight, nothing which is more important than his own personal safety, is a miserable creature and has no chance of being free unless made and kept so by the exertions of better men than himself. |
