I spend most of my time in the other forums, but I come through HTF about once a month. Every time I come through, it seems some has a question that relates to concealed or open carry, or use of force laws in Arkansas.

I'm a ccw instructor,  was a LEO for nine years before my knees quit on me and I'm still an active shooter.  If I don't know the answer, I can find it.  I am willing to help my fellow ARFCOMers.

Send me a pm, and post your questions here, so everyone can benefit.

My mother is traveling from Arkansas to South Carolina at the end of May. She will have to travel through Arkansas, Mississippi, Alabama, Georgia, and South Carolina. Is it legal to carry through those states without a CCW as long as you are on a trip and in your car?

I can only speak for Arkansas, if she is traveling in an area outside the scope of her peers, she may be covered by the journey exception as long as the weapon stays in her vehicle. If she had an Arkansas permit, she would be covered in all of those states you listed. She will have to contact someone who knows the law in the other states about carrying without a permit.

i ave had my permit for a few years now but what does the law say about carrying a rifle.

i don't leave town without some type of rifle and i'm wondering where they want me to store the mags.  most time i keep the loaded mags in the bag with the rifle and i use a chamber flag.

Your G2G. there is no permit need to carry a rifle or a shotgun. Use your common sense though, schools, colleges, government and law enforcement areas are still a no-go. be careful with the game and fish guys, you don't want to get jacked for poaching. As you described how you carry it, you shouldn't have any problems.

I shall endeavor to scan a copy of the report filed by the clown that pulled me over and held me at gunpoint. It is a real hoot.

I'm just putting this to the top.  Maybe a mod can bless with a sticky pin?
