| Watched Glenn Beck last night. As you may know, he was on a roll regarding states rights with examples of Montana, Utah, and Texas. I was wondering where Arkansas stood in comparison. I may be reading the state wrong, but from watching morning news stations in Ar. I get the distinct impression that the legislators are social by nature and are not independently minded. Say it aint so. |
| What, they'd rather obama? If you have a man that stands for your party that you've trusted to run your state till term limit and has moral ethics enough to be trusted with our nation(unlike obama), then why would you not support him when it could benifit Ar. in the future? Anyway I like what Texas is doing next door by almost assuredly voting for firearm legislation simular to Montanas'. Lets see what the Supreme Court says about the states right to be exempt from fed law. |

Quoted: huckabee doesnt represent me. He claims to be pro gun, yet never did anything towards that goal. He destroyed our school system. He loves taxes. He loves spending. He loves letting scum go to rape and kill again. Fuck that rino piece of shit. What, they'd rather obama? Quoted: Huck is one of those authentic progressives. tax and spend. state government only grew while he was governor. new social program every day. that. and we didnt trust him to do anything. But their wasnt a better candidate around sadly. Posted Via AR15.Com Mobile |

Not much I can add about Huck. If he had got the nod from the GOP, then won the election we would still be in approx. the same place we are right now. Ammo and mags MIGHT be a bit more available. It wouldn't be a gurantee though. I guess thats good enough if you're a one issue voter. The Huck doomsday scenario on the other and... All fatty/high calorie foods would be banned gov't controlled fitness program in all schools and colleges the most fucked up education plan in the world, evar. probably an AWB in some form. he's a hunter, not a shooter I don't think he would be taking shit from the world leaders like Obama is, or embarassing us like O is doing, but the world stage would still look like it does today. |

On the topic: Our state gov't may be left leaning, but the people are not. Most of the people I know that vote democrat are Southern Dems that dont know they're Republicans now, or they just vote D because mamma and daddy and granny and great granny all did. The Ds just have to piss them off enough and they'll be done. You won't see wide spread pussification of the people here like you would in the coastal states. I fully believe that any attempt to turn us into California or a New England state would not last more than 2 years, if it ever got started at all. |

I disagree with your thought that the dems could piss these fools off enough to vote R. Most of them are dumb and stubborn enough that it would take Obongo personally slaughtering their families and pissing on their graves before they would have a change of heart. Even then I'm not so sure.
I love AR but the political mentality here is retarded for the most part. |
| As it applies to gun laws I would say Arkansas is pretty conservative leaning. But for social type rules/procedures because of the high population of old, poor etc I would say Arkansas is to the left a little bit. Arkansas has one of the highest per capita state government employment rates(i.e. working welfare) with Texas being one of the lowest. If you look at the Blue vs Red thing with the last several elections Arkansas is pretty Red. The highest color of Blue is the LR area and along the Mississippi river delta. |

Quoted: Well theres nothing thats says things cant change. It all boils down to whether the population has common sense or if they live off their emotions. things will only get worse while the average american is stupid, lazy, ignorant and arrogant. I have lost all faith in my countrymen. The average person in nyc cant tell you what year 9/11 was. Posted Via AR15.Com Mobile |

B_S Romney calling himself a Republican is proof that liberals can lie to the entire world and have no problems sleeping at night. McCain was slightly better, but not by much. Scoring Huck against McCain is tough because Huckabee loved to pardon people that didn't need to be, but John doesn't think we should torture people. I say, if attaching a car battery to achmed's nuts saves one American life, fry some balls. (and contrary to 'wisdom' that torture doesn't work, it does, if one knows how to do it) |

arkansas is a blue state. Each of the last 6 elections the state has chosen a liberal in the presidential race. Then again, thats all we've had to chose from. Posted Via AR15.Com Mobile I must misunderstand you... McCain carried Arkansas in 2008. Wouldn't that make us RED? Link As far as local elections, If you don't run as a democrat you most likely will not get elected. I know several conservatives in Democrat clothing. |

In this election, more than any other, you either voted for McCain/Palin or you voted for Obama/Biden. It doesn't matter who you picked. |

Like you said, "more than any other" election before. |

Like you said, "more than any other" election before. There are those who chose to vote Obama to go ahead and get it over with. Some figured 4 years of pure hell with Obama would be better than 4 years or more with a Rinos like McCain. Those 4 years of Obama would more quickly bring about a shift in those middle of the road voters who were turned off by Bush. Not sure if I agree or not but there was a fairly large portion of conservatives who chose that route and voted for Obama. But it sure has awakened a sleeping giant! We hope!!! |
