| Keep an eye on the weather for the next few days folks. It may get a little dicey. |

the wife just went to wal mart to grab extra stuff. we already have a lot but more the better. she said a lot of stuff was missing and they were running out of bags to put stuff in. she said the crackers were almost all gone. also cookies. i love what people get when they think they need to stock up on stuff.

we have yet to see a good ice storm here. we have been here a year and a half. its always nice to know we have food and wood on hand. stuck We have aVERY bad one in 2000. That was borderline SHTF from what I heard. for many, it was a legitimate SHTF we lost power for a couple days, but stayed nice and comfortable and well fed |

That was borderline SHTF from what I heard. It was very bad everywhere and terrible in some remote places that didnt have power for weeks and so many trees down it has almost impossible to get anywhere. |

I actually don't remember much about the 2000 storm... Now, back in my wee lil cowboy days, sometime in the mid 90s we had a doozy. We didn't have grid power for over 2 weeks... I'm thinkin it was ~20 days. Half of those days we couldn't even leave the house. Collapsed a barn, brought down alot of limbs and froze every faucet on the farm. It was great |

Quoted:Now, back in my wee lil cowboy days, sometime in the mid 90s we had a doozy. It was early '94. I was flying in from Dallas to LR and watched a lightning storm. It was a freezing rain thunderstorm. It was also the only time I regretted having a window seat. I saw the ice and snow on the approach but it never turned black as we got over the runway. Yep, we landed on an ice covered runway!
My parents and in-laws in SE AR were without power for about 2 weeks. I think that was longer than the ice storm back in the late '70's or early 80's. -Robert |

Cowboy and I are 2 of the only people I know that actually enjoy primitive living. When people talk SHTF, we get excited. ![]() I'm the same way. If you're used to camping for extended amounts of time, you should already have preps and supplies so it's not a big deal. |
2nd the grocery store thing. I had to go into the kroger today for a loaf of bread, 1 damned thing, apparently ours got stale rather quickly . That place was crazy, I've never wanted to pistol whip so many people before in my life. And guess what they were all buying? Milk, ice cream and frozen dinners WTF, those'll be real handy if the power goes out. buncha morons.

Quoted: Man its really coming down in NEA. I dont think anything is gonna be open tomorrow. +1 You're in Pokey too, correct? We're gettin it pretty heavy out here on the west end of town. We've probably got a half inch of ice on the back patio already. And its still comin down heavy. |

I'd estimate theres about 1/2 or a little more on the camper right now. Its still coming down too. |

I am in Bentonville, so far we have at least 1/4 inch on all the vehicles. The road crew is out and they have already sanded and salted the roads. I have seen two people leave and at least on our block the roads don't look that bad, it seems the crux is getting enough ice off your car to be able to get in it. I still think I will play sheep though and stay home. Plus the news is spewing doom and gloom about all the traffic accidents.

| It was not too bad on the roads this morning. I headed into work about 6:30 my normal 20 min drive took 45 but make it there safe and sound. Think we are the only office open though. Hoping to leave a little early this afternoon as it looks to be a lot more on the way |
