Yeah, I did check the class 3 forum and an more confused now then when I started.

I want to SBR a Stag pistol lower. 5.56 with a 10" RRA barrel for now but I want to be able to go to 9mm, 6.8spc, 7", 14", etc in the future with the same lower. What do I need to put in the boxes for Caliber, OAL, Barrel Length?

Anyone in Central AR do decent engraving?

Here is how my 2 approved form 1's read:

4B: Short Barrel Rifle
4C: 9mm on my 1st and .223 Remington on the 2nd. (They have been sending back forms with multiple calibers or "miltiple" written here. If you want to change it later, just send a letter to the ATF stating, "I am in possession of SBR, SN___ and will now be using it in ___caliber".
4E: 10.5in
4F: 29in (this is from Colt's website for their 11.5 inch rifle - its OAL was 30, so I subtracted 1 in.) For dealings with the ATF, OAL for the AR-15 is with a collapsible stock extended.

So yours would read the same, except

4C: .223 Remington
4E: 10in
4F: 28.5in

Once your form is approved, you can send the ATF a letter to make any legal changes you want. The will send you a reply letter stating that the registry will now reflect your change.

As far as engraving, I have sent all of mine to Orion Arms. I don't know of anyone here doing engraving that matches his quality.

Also, FYI the ASP now does fingerprints for free, during regular business hours 5 days a week. Just bring your cards from the ATF.

Hope this helps!
