I've been in north central arkansas (Bull Shoals,Mt.Home,Yellville) looking for Home this wk. Think we found our spot just east of Yellville. Been very impressed with the area and the society in general. Seems that hunting and fishing is the rule of the day.
One property north of Mt. Home had a gun club down the road, and near Yellville there were gunshops in every direction. The first two properties today had firing ranges!
I hope to meet you all, for I've been trolling for a while and we'll soon be neighbors.
BTW the places we are looking at has caves and some have been BIG. Question; Would you use a cave in this area as a serious bugout, or is the rock too rotten to withstand a nuke rocked world. God Forbid

Gods' country it is. We went back to a Yelleville property that we are really likin' and counted seven does and a Buck at the feeder in the backyard. We saw a groundhog, or maybe it was a small badger, and all sorts of fowl. We love that place and now that we're back in west palm its time to s- or git off the pot. 3497mi. round trip

We've got plenty of deer that eat all my roses before they can bloom. They chew them down to the ground every time they get started good. The raccoons and squirrels rob my bird feeders. I put out food for the squirrels so they'll leave the bird feed alone and now I have skunks robbing it. I'm thinking of just shooting all of them.

You need to post more. I live a bit south of ya. We party a lot.

I took about a two year hiatus from shooting to bring my scuba diving skills up to where I wanted them...like I said, I recently built/ rebuilt my AR and am now reconfiguring my Savage FPLE .308...I've started hoarding ammo again and though I'm diving year round (mostly Heber Springs) my schedule allows me to spend more time shooting...I'm currently just setting up my schedule and getting things in sync...also getting my homebrew production up to par...I make a kick ass hefe weizen...once the 'kids' are gone I plan to run out to Benton and see what's whoopin'...I've started checking in here daily...

Cheers,
VuDuLou

The VuDu came from the guys at the local dive shop 'cause of me exclusively diving EAN/ Nitrox as opposed to air...the nickname for Nitrox is VooDoo Gas (or "Geazer Gas" because 'old guys' love it)

Cool.  I've always wanted to get my scuba cert, I like to go down to Jamaica to chill out and can't do the good dives because my work schedule doesn't allow the time for it.

Every July ('06/'07) we go to Morehead City, NC...this year and for '08 we've chartered a 20 place boat and dive shipwrecks off NC (Topedo Alley/ Graveyard of the Atlantic) this past Jul I was lucky enough to dive both the U-701 and U-352, U-boats sunk in WWII...my favorite thing is 'looking for stuff'...two years ago we found the old pump house that pumped fresh water from the Little Red River to Heber Springs...it was built in 1916...the building is intact, including the windows and was at 134', definitely "the cold, dark and lonely"...I work every other Fri/Sat?Sun so I'm off every other Fri/Sat/Sun...then I'm on two off two...it works out...

I'd love to do stuff like that. I can barely make it in the shallow end of the pool though.

If you happen to have any pictures of your dives, I'd love to see them.

After you add them there.  There will be 4 text boxes under the pictures.  copy the code from the last box.  Paste it here.

Well if you wanted to stay "on the wagon" boone county is a great place to do that without the temptation, that's for sure!

I have heard there are some shooting matches near mountain home. Anybody know of these?

Actually, there's a liquor store about 1 mile from here. It's just over the Missouri line.

I know there are some ranges in Carroll county near Berryville.
