I guess a private party dealer had left a round in the chamber. They cut the zip tie off so the interested party could fondle it and play with the action. I guess he did not clear it and lost his finger for it. They ran the dealer off and the injured gentlemen was wihsked off to receive medical attention.

All in all it was a high priced show with a lot of hateful people. Must be the weather.

I do not, I hadn't made it around that far and he was packed up and gone within 5 minutes of it.

I re-read and saw "private party dealer".  That's probably "ole Joe" trying to sell some of his collection for a tidy profit, what most of the guy show "dealers" seem to be anymore.

When did the shooting happen? Was there about 2pm Saturday and everything was back to normal.

I agree there were some serious dealer attitudes and hard selling this time around. I figure it's due to slow summer sales and lack of gun shows this time of year. Most of them got fairly "disgusted" if you asked prices or questions and didn't hand over the cash then and there.

The guy selling homemade leather cases in the middle of the floor was a riot. I asked how much a case was and he said fairly direct "you're buying that case for $50". I walked off and he kept yelling at me and mumbling to himself all the way down the aisle.

My son and I went there this morning. I did notice several empty tables where it looked like people just packed up and left. I traded some 308 for some 223 to the guy who runs Ammunition Center, he told me that this would be his last show in the area. He said that the NWA shows just aren't producing like they did last year and the year before. He also said that ammo sales are at record highs this year, must be the rising prices and shortage. I have always found his prices to be the best, shame he won't be there anymore. There did seem to be more attitude than usual, and trading decently seemed impossible. Oh well maybe the next show will be better.

The AD was a non ffl dealer, i was told by someone in the loop that he said it wasnt his fault. that the buyer used poor judgement by pulling the trigger and not checking the chamber. The dealer basically blamed everyone but himself. DID ANYONE NOTICE ALL THE LIVE ROUNDS AT THE CHECK YOUR FIREARMS HERE TABLE?!! WTF?! When i go to a gunshow i always make sure no rounds in weapon that im taking just so i dont feel like a dumbass, let alone the legal ramifications of an AD.

I must say that we have never had a bad attitude. we always greet the folks that stop by our table with a smile and seek to make them feel as though they're talking to a friend. They may not buy from us but they sure remember us. Then if they choose to buy one of the items on our table I always try to close the deal with a handshake.

Other dealers get mad and say things like "you guys are the only ones making any money here" I tell them that if you tithe on your increase, then they'll come to the show looking to buy from you. It all has to do with attitude.

I've seen Performance Ammo at both good and bad shows... and Springdale's gun show quality is far better than the bad ones he routinely attends.

I do agree he's a great guy to buy ammo from and gets lots of praise on the various gun net forums.
