| Looks like it's shut down for a couple of months. I drove up there on Sunday and there is a couple of excavators and dozers on site and people working. I guess they're actually going to finish it. |

It is going to be interesting to see how people treat the new range. It is hoped that with all of the construction and cleaning up of the area, that people will not trash it like it was in the past. Agreed. I have no issue with it being a fee area so long as it is maintained and supervised. I have lived in AK most of my life and hate how most treat public land. |

You wouldn't recognize the place. Major improvements with a nice gravel drive up to a parking area next to the range. Troopers are now having to stay up there to keep people from shooting at the equipment that is working up there. He said there is talk of the borough setting up a booth up there, for someone to stay there, to keep people from destroying the place. Just hope people treat the area with respect, but I guess we'll see. |

I'm afraid that place is gonna be a fuckin zoo. A lot nicer than it was though. |

Yes that actual shooting is on the small side, but this is just phase 1. When it is all said and done the rifle area will be about 80' wide. There will also be a separate area for the pistol shooters. I will attempt to get out there today to take some pictures and post them.
It is going to take some effort one everyone's part to keep it cleaned up. |
