I have a buyer for my Ruger on Armslist. He lives in "Florida" and his english is not too good him. He not type too good. He has sent me a certified check for the purchase price... oh he now said it's over the asking price, please send the rest back to him then he will arrange shipment for the handgun.
I'm laughing my ass off. He really belives he will get something out of me. I really need to sell this thing locally, these scammers are killing me. Be careful, no such thing as a free lunch. |

My buddy got taken for $2900 on arms list. Turns out it was a guy in Nigeria using somebody in the 48 to cash the money orders and send him the money. I just had somebody reply to my WTB PKM list on sturmgewehr. They sent a pic that looked familiar. I Google PKM kit and that's the first pic that showed up. I asked for more pics and they sent 2 more pics that when Googled again were from an Arfcom WTS from 2009. |

THere are tons of Money Order Scams out there. Typical symptoms you guys have experiences. They send you a Money Order or a Cashier's check for more than the amount. They say, send them the difference after shipping. The MO or check is fake... YOu deposit it and send them the difference and the item. You then get a call fromt he bank a few days later, saying it's a fake check. They take the amount out of your account. You lose that. You also lose the item you sent and the difference you sent as well. |
And then there's always a guy in another country that just needs your help to get his millions out in return for a big chunk of it ![]() And your paypal/ebay account needs the information updated, just click here. Unless your computer has contracted a virus and tells you so, and to fix it - just click here...

You would be surprised how many people fall for these scams. I know one lady in our town who fell for 3 different scams in a 1 year period. Pat |
| I feel I was scammed. I never got my big check. I had to sell it for cash in town. I think I was lied to. People do fall for this crap all the time, good people. My friends father sent $5000 to someone he thought was his son in trouble in Mexico. He was notified on Facebook. Wired the cash out and was screwed. |
