I'm planning to fly up to Alaska for about a week. I'll fly to Anchorage for a couple days and the visit Bethel for a day and back to Anchorage for a couple days.
What are the carry laws in Alaska? Any places I need to make sure I see? Places to avoid? Hotel recommendations? |

Long house can get loud with them. They have been pretty full with some of the construction going on. Not to much to see in Bethel. ![]() What is bringing you out to Bethel if you don't mind me asking? |

Carry law: If you can legally possess a firearm you may carry said firearm in AK, concealed or otherwise, no permit required. Must inform any LEO you are contacted by, must inform homeowners before entering their residence, no carry in gov't buildings, banks, bars, probably something I forgot.
Never made it to Bethel while I was there. Best advice, get a map to find places to go, rent a car in Anc, and get out of the city and see some of the state, its huge, tourist attractions abound if you're into that sort of thing (halibut fishing, the 64 quake, pipeline, glaciers, Denali national park, gold rush, and more), very little of the land is privately owned and there's lots of hiking and other natural attractions. |

This time of year, I would recommend hiring a car, run up the Glen hwy, go through Palmer, the stretch from Sutton to Glenallen is full of cool scene, and then turn right, and dash down the Richardson hwy.
Thompson pass, and the drive past Bridal Veil Falls, into Valdez is ..... quite possibly the prettiest scenery in North America. Catch the Falls on a clear day in the late afternoon/ evening there is a persistant rainbow in the waterfall, descriptive words are inadequate to convey how damn cool it is. |
