I've been doing some reading and trying to figure out what all is legal and what isn't. I'll probably be moving up from Texas at the beginning of next year. Are the laws for firearms and Class III pretty much the same as Texas as far as ownership and usage go?

Pretty much the same as Texas. Long as its legal on a federal level whatever goes.

The question is, are you prepared for Alaska and do you have a job lined up?

We are a shall issue state, but also do not require a ACHP (CCW permit) to CCW
You must be 21 to CCW
There is no waiting period other than the time it takes to go through NICS
MG/SBS/SBR/Suppressor/DD/AOW are all legal

That pretty much answers everything. Also, I'm sure there aren't any weird rifle rules regarding what's on it and what kind of mags you use, such as on an AR. I'll probably be moving up around this time next year with the Air Force. I'll be flying C-17's out there. Thanks for all of ya'lls help.

Alll the fixins and mags are good to go.. As long as they are Federally lawful.
