I was planning on doing this Marshall from Primary Arms, but do not have the funds currently.

If anyone is interested in doing a cold weather test (ala vortex sparc just without the hammer) toss me a pm and I'll let you know what the plan was.  There will be a discount on the scope btw.

what is the plan? I take scope, let it freeze, see if it holds zeroright? a discount primary arms scope would be perfect for my 30/30.

Basically, stick it in a snowbank and let it sit a day, knock it around a bit, etc but yeah

I had asked him if they would be interested in having one tested.  Marsh responded that he would give a discount on *one* optic for the test.  Honestly, I had not thought about if it failed.  It was supposed to be a non destructive test after all.  That would probably be a case discussed with him.

As for the test, basically recreate the sparc torture test without nailing on it with a hammer.  Its kind of a standard of its own for user level testing.  Only difference is that it would be -40 for the cold tests instead of whatever a freezer is at.

I can forward the PM's to you if you want.  It was a short conversation though.  Really, it boils down to who wants to do the test.  I know fsjdw2 was interested.  I figure he'll probably ask about the details when he gets back over here tonight.

Either way, I am interested in the results.

Marshall is a good guy and if it failed he would replace it. That is the kind of guy he is.

Yeah I know. It's more of just wanting to get everything covered. Since it was my idea, I'd feel bad if someone got
Screwed.

Marshall says he will warranty the optic should it break.  It will probably test it beyond the specs but he thinks it will be interesting.  My money is on it surviving personally.

So, who wants to do the test?  My vote is UAF, with viper bringing his toys up here, but thats just me
