Begin RANT....
Purchased a new (to me) Remington 870 and decided that I wanted to "Duracoat" it. Went to Laury's website and found the color I wanted to use and requested a quote for the product & shipping to Anchorage. The product itself (Shake-N-Spray Kit) was $32.95 The total PLUS shipping came to a whopping $93.96 What a fucking rip off. Just another fine example of how a lot of companies in the lower 48 try to RAPE us Alaskans!!! They act like we're living in a foreign country and not part of the USA... RANT over.... |

Grizzly actually claims they can ship DuraCoat at normal rates, although not the degreaser. I just ordered some––we'll see what happens!

The extra shipping is the UPS hazmat. You don't even want to know what we pay for shipping on some DuraCoat orders.
Let me know how it works out with Grizzly - chances are you will get an, "oops, we need to charge you more shipping," call. Or else they are just shipping without marking the box correctly. Anyway, if shipping ends up being a problem, let me know - we let people piggyback on our orders and charge no shipping at all. I will be making another order in the next few days. |

Tried to order something from cabelas and they show restrictions on shipping to ak/hi.
It's just a holster. ![]() I've never had a problem with Cabelas. About 5 years ago they shipped a Pelican gun case to Kodiak for $10. The post office wasn't too happy to deliver it. |

They just shipped it via USPS, apparently without any trouble. I wonder if it's easier to ship just the paint + hardener, rather than an aerosol? The following merchandise shipped 7/18/2011 via USPS Priority Mail AK & HI from our Bellingham, WA warehouse and will be delivered by your local postal carrier or deposited in your PO Box: (1) H9424 DURACOAT 4OZ-MATTE BLACK (1) H9435 DURACOAT 4OZ-STOCK RED I'm excited about trying out DuraCoat! |

Quoted: If you guys IM me, I know a guy who Dura-Coats in Wasilla. Good pricing to. And sometimes if you call the company you are ordering from, they will throw the small parts in an envelope for you if you explain the situation. I have done it several times. Make sure he has an FFL. I have spoken to a couple guys now in Wasilla who are doing Duracoat without FFLs. You would hate for him to get busted while he had your firearm. |
