Great Idea to do a shoot but unfortunately Sat's Im working my shop. I hope you can get a couple of guys out. On another note and I do NOT wish to hijack this thread but...... On Wed nights we have a High Power shoot at Salonie. You can shoot AR, M1 Garand, M14 . Its an NRA sanctioned event and qualifies you to make a CMP purchase. Its a 50 shot + 8 sighters+ 58 shot match. Entry fee is $10. Registration at 6:45 ..... shoot at 7pm. If the weather is REALLY shitty ... we usually dont shoot unless everybody wants to but we are a small group 3-5 ppl. Doug feel free to come on out and I hope I can make an Arfcom shoot one of these days! Good luck on Sat!! |

Do I need a mat to lay on if you shoot from a prone position? |
It is advisable. However .... any equipment you dont have such as a mat , spotting scope even a rifle .... WE can provide if you just let us know you are showing up. We have a few Nat'l Match Bushmaster's ... A2 variety for those that arent equiped.... just let me know what you need or if you are showing up. Had a shoot last night ... something is either wrong with my ammo(reloads) or my rifle.... Last week I shot a 393 ... this week .... Under 200
Also we usually hit the Rendevouz for a beer afterward.

Thanks again. If it is Carl running it it is kind of informal , but still a blast . I shot a few a few years back to get my cmp card. Make sure you have two straight wall 20 round mags and they can provide the rifle. I usually brought about 100 rounds with me and never needed all of it. Load one mag with one round and the other is I think 9 rounds or a full mag. You shoot multiple stages . Standing off hand, Prone , and I think the third was kneeling. Hella fun , and I wish it was on a different day so I could go again. Also bring I think it was $20 or so . |
