Was back in oct for having loaded .22 mags in a backpack.

Would i be fine declaring it as my handgun in checked  baggage?

trigger lock is unnecesary
though last time I went through they required lock at every locking point on case

make sure you get the firearms decleration card at the counter and put it in the case befoe giving it to tsa

my last trip through anchorage a man )retired marine) had declared and the gate agent got to talking to him about his military career as her dad was also a marine. she forgot to give him the form and he forgot as well
despite her begging the tsa guys not to jack him up and telling them over and over he declared but she forgot to give him the form, they pulled the guy off the flight and made his life he'll. I don't know the final outcome but I do know he was already boarded and tsa had police there with them waiting for him. pretty shitty situation

Thanks again uafgrad.

That story sucks. Show how inept they are.

I just want to make sure nothing goes wrong this time.
Will make double sure i get the form, sign it and put it in the case.

Am having the wife go through all carry on to make sure nothing is in them.
