Do you bring your ammo loaded in mags or load the mags there?

I top off all mags.  Dump all ammo into a bag/box.  Don't keep them in the mfgr box.  It's a PITA to load mags.  Less messing with gear and more time to shoot.

The class was pretty good. I found out I dont like the single point sling i got, and that I like the vfg further back on the rail. I also had a disagreement with one of the instructors about which peep is for what. I said the small peep for long range and he said the small peep was for close range. (I know I am right). He said He's been doing it that way for 32 years. One of the other instructors came over and backed me up.

The class was actually really well taught. We got to work on a ton of different skills-transitions, shooting from cover, moving and shooting. It was fun.
Oh yeah-The pmags are killer!

Here's a good explanation of the material covered / practiced.
(I copied it from another site.)
Link to Site

This is a brief AAR of the Koa Services Urban Rifle class. The cost of the class is worth every penny spent. The material covered was useful, but more importantly this class gave students an opportunity to handle and use firearms in an environment not available at most local ranges on island. Personally this class was challenging as I am a civ shooter with no LEO or Mil experience. To keep it short and keep me from running of on a tangent I’ll just run through what was described on the class description:
• An urban rifle for defensive purposes
Wayne talked about prepping a kit to quickly respond to a SD scenario. He also mentioned how it was a good idea for the kit to be a low profile kit without any labels or features that would give the kit away as a “tactical.”
• Types of rifles and calibers
Koa Services also gave a rundown on the operation of the AR-15, AK-47/74 and Mini-14. Stressed the +/- of each platform, and how it was important to have a practical mindset, and not limit your experience to one platform but to use whatever is available.

• Sling carries and Weapon Handling
We went through a series of drills on handling and carrying a loaded rifle safely. This was a great topic in itself as the range options to most civ shooters on Oahu are limited in what they are allowed to do at the range.

• Shooting positions.
Rifles were zeroed at 25 yards. Standing, crouched, one knee, 2 knee, support side shooting and transition drills from strong to support and vice versa. Access and scanning

• Moving and shooting on the move with a firearm
Basically, how to move safely moving and being aware of your surroundings and making sure you move as a group safely. Transition from rifle to sidearm.

• Multiple threats
Shooting drills with 2 and 3 targets. Threat assessment with shoot and no shoot targets.

• Firing from hard cover .
How to use and shoot around cover. Mixed into this multiple targets with shoot and no shoot targets.

The class material and drills also allowed students an opportunity to evaluate their gear. I found this helpful as you get hands on experience and you get to see how others use their gear. Nothing helps you determine what works and does not work than actually trying stuff out. I learned a great deal in this class, but in reality there is so much more that I could have taken away from the course. I would take this course again just for the opportunity to run the drills again, and to support Koa Services for giving regular peeps like an opportunity for this type of training.

Hmm.

What kind of LBE and weapons/weapon setups did you see amongst other students?
