WTF?  Is it taking 7 days for Priority stuff to get to you guys.  Ive ordered stuff over the last 3 weeks, and it has taken an average of 7-8 days to get here (Juneau).  Just wondering what the fuck is going on with USPS.

It may be the Holiday season or they just didnt ship it out.
USPS Priority has never been late for me always exactly 3-4 working days. Both ways

Get used to it, this is Alaska.  I've had priority take weeks before.  I believe normally one can get their postage money back if the package doesn't arrive in 3 days by the post mark but in Alaska there is a 4 day exception.

If you get your priority package in 3-4 days, thank your lucky stars.  There aren't any roads to Juneau so I expect all packages to get an extra air deliver delay there.

When performing transactions, I always make it clear
1) To use priority both ways
2) It takes longer both ways

I've had Parcel Post take 5 to 8 weeks from the lower 48.  I've also had a letter and a package take one month to go from one post office box to another, not only within the same postal zip code but in the same damn post office.

Working in the bush the mail comes by contracted small plane carriers so there can be huge delays on top of the regular wait - don't get me started.

By the way, I always stress the use of Delivery Confirmation, that way I or they can prove the package is indeed in transit and neither party is slacking off - I demand it with eBay dealings so they know my payment was sent or their package has been shipped on time.

I have been lucky as heck I guess....I have had 5 or 6 packages that were sent out on a saturday from various parts of the states and arrived here on the following monday.  There seems to be a black hole in the Missouri area that makes things take 7-8 days to get here, but other than that, I have had few problems.

And I am in Seward.

Bummed .

Luckily I mailed out everything I have to for Christmas today so they might get it by New years .

USPS does not gurantee Priorty mail times.  They tell you 3-5 days, though that is not a gurantee.  I sent out a letter priority on 11/19 and it is MIA

USPS does gurantee Express Mail (overnight)  It is guranteed to get to your destination in 2 days for most places and 3 for some others.  There is not an overnight service from Alaska anymore.

I ALWAYS got my $ back with that express mail overnight service thing.  IT was great to get free shipping really fast that way.

I probably ship 1-2 a month using express mail and have never gotten a 1 day gurantee.  Most recently sent 2 scopes out express mail.  One to sub of Seattle, other across country.  Both of them guranteed to be 3 days and both took 3 days.

I was told there was no 1 day guarantee because it all gets air shipped every other day instead of each day.  If you happen to catch the plane day then it's there in one day, otherwise you missed it and it gets there the next day.  Don't know how true that is and I now see the priority guarantee is gone as Chris pointed out.

Priority Mail flat rate can be cheaper than Parcel post at times.

Flat rate is awesome.  You can get the large cardboard envelopes and now you can get flat rate priority boxes.  You could mail a sheet/block of lead and it will still be the same amount of postage.

You can go online and order priority mailing supplies you want for absolutely free as much quantity as you want pretty much (case loads).

It only works if the company isn't raping you on shipping.  Midway wont use it.   They say its because flat rate service is not available to business.  Even without flat rate their shipping is anywhere from 25-50% more than the actual shipping charge.  F them

In Anchorage, I get my stuff in 3 days usually, 4 days tops.  Once it took 6 days, but that was during the holiday season.

I have a letter (money order) that was shipped priority mail to Conneciut on 11/19.  Still has not arrived yet.  I can not file a claim through USPS until 30 days have passed.

I want my AICS mags!

I had a customer in St Louis that I sent a regular letter to (a bill) the same time I sent a package to him.  the letter arrived 2 days later and 3 days ahead of the pri mail package.

Midway is FOS. I copied the following from the USPS site and it says nothing about not being available to business:

Boxes
• The Priority Mail Flat Rate Box is $7.70 for any U.S. destination.
• The inside dimensions for the two boxes available are 11" x 8.5" x 5.5" and 13.625" x 11.875" x 3.375".
• The contents of the flat rate box must be neatly contained inside of the box with adhesive packaging tape.
• The box must close securely and retain its shape when taped with adhesive.
• The shape of the box may not be changed or enlarged to fit its contents.

I learned about flat rate boxes last month when I had 3 bulk bullet boxes shipped to me from Mangus Bullets. I couldn't believe it was only $7.50!

I didn't mean company flat rate, I meant when you personally ship to each other.  Brownells Flat rate is awesome though, it's something like $7.95 per package no matter how much they are mailing you.
