I called the ferry Rep and he said the farthest I could go in AK is to Haines on the ferry. Can you drive to Anchorage from there? Doesnt look like to many roads. He said there was no other way to get up there. Is this correct? Thanks
Yes you can drive to ANC from Haines. I've done it from Skagway before, but you can do it from Haines too. You take the ALCAN Highway up through the Yukon to Fairbanks and then down to Anchorage. Not sure if you can cut lower and not have to go all the way up to Anchorage. You can also drive to Prince Rupert BC and get on the ferry there if you wanted.
You guys rock! After all my calls yetserday I finally decided just to ship my truck on Totemoceon and will get a 200 plane ticket. (All the ferry routes up north seemed to be sold out until april Thats 1400 and only 2 days out of pocket for the truck-not too bad. Again thanks for the help. I cant wait to get up there.

I'm in the AF going to Elmendorf. My truck was in the U.K. so I had it shipped to Dallas so I could drive it home. Need to do some massive work on it, so I've blown my wad on the shipping costs. I thought it would be worth while to drive up with a lot of ammo and guns, and also hit WY (inlaws), and ID, Mountain Home AFB to see some friends. I think it will be cheaper vs all the plane tickets and shipping costs.
