Does anyone on here have a setup at home for anodizing aluminum? I just want something done in black.

I talked to a guy in Muscatine that wil do Type II annodizing relatively cheap. I have not sent him anything yet so I can't vouch for him just yet, but he seemed ok on the phone and pointed me to a company that does Typ III in Illinois. I think for what I want, the type II is sufficient.

Give it about a month and I will tell you how he does. I'm going to have him do two lowers, but I am still waiting on the engraving to be finished on one of them.

That looks like a pretty big business, not someone doing it at home. But keep me posted on the results.

I've wondered about this myself before, if it's a business wouldn't they need to have an FFL to do lowers?  Or could they just turn it around the same business day and escape that requirement?  I'm sure septic would know.

I wondered the same. They actually have pictures of the lowers they are anodizing on their website. What i'm really looking for is someone that does it at home. I have a good friend that has done it at home, but his chemicals are old and not sure if he has all the stuff anymore. It can be done, I just don't want to spend the money on getting setup. Money is just too tight.

Tagging for interest.  If I can have a couple lowers anodized or cerakoted or whatever for cheaper than I can set up at home, I will do that instead.
