tell us a little about yourself
Live in Des Moines area. Shoot at the Boone sportsmen club range. Really great place to shot. Was in the Army/Army reserves from 1981 to 1993. Desert Storm/Shield veteran. So I am familiar with the M-16/AR-15 system. No I do not know it all LOL!! Got back into shooting after a 20 year hiatus. Bought a Bushmaster (Bushhamster)  to start out,M-4 A3 Patrolman carbine. Like it lot. Maybe move up to something else later. Had my first run in with bad ammo today. Stupid Korean pmc crap. I buy only American ammo from now on.

I just joined as well and picked up my first gun. Went out shooting with the girlfriends brother-in-law on the farm and became hooked. I picked up a Sun Devil Mfg AR that a local gun shop in Des Moines put together. Now I just need to get some time to take it out to the range!

Now you have me worried. Yes, I love pop tarts and even though I am not supposed to eat them anymore (doc orders) I still do from time to time.

Well here is a picture of it. I got it from JT Guns off of Merle Hay Rd. It is close to where I live and I like to try to buy local if I can where it doesn't cost me an arm and a leg.

I say that having been in courses and they had a compensator like yours. Not very comfy for those next to you but works outstanding for the shooter. Next time you go to the range with someone stand to their left as they shoot it. Your experience will differ from the one you had behind the rifle. |

I've heard a couple good things about JT guns (they opened recently right?), I'm only a couple blocks away, but I haven't stopped in yet... I mainly try and hit up the Rhine Group in Ankeny, they've been good to me and there fun to shoot the shit with. Bhouse mentioned JLM, I'm 4 blocks south of there and i refuse to give them business... even under the new management I still don't like the place. P.S. the shop i was referring to was Jack Smith's (Mr. Tank's go to shop  ) fuck that guy and tell everyone you know not to spend money there

That is good news that I didn't go to the shop you were thinking of. Yes, I believe that his shop is relatively new. He said the exact same thing you mentioned about the break.
I felt comfortable about the information that he was giving and checked it out with some online searching. The parts he used seemed to be of quality and he built them like he would want them. If I go back for an eotech red dot he mentioned he would cut me a deal for it at cost since it would pair well with the gun. I just need to decide if that is the way I want to go with the gun. |

Went in august of this year. They had a used colt. They didn't want to come down on the price. I checked to see what a new one just like it would cost. They were selling the used one at brand new price. Tried telling me that was normal price for a used one. What ever. I've been around the block a few times . I know b.s. when I see and hear it. Won't ever go in there again.
