| I would like to join the shooting range in Van Meter but have no idea who to contact. Any help would be appreciated. |

I am a current member- we received notice this year to pay on time or you won't be a member any longer. And that they are not taking new memberships this year. Joe Payment is not a problem. Not taking new members is a problem. I would be willing to pay until accepted as long it's not 3 or more years. |

So is this range always full or something? If you go on a tuesday at 5, is the line packed? Or do they just try to avoid the possibility of over crowding? Membership is full. No the range is not full during the week. The weekends are busy at times. They have matches about once a month and sometimes they rent out the range to different SWAT units that close it down. I usually go on the Thursday afternoon and I might see another guy or two. I missed the quarterly meeting that talked about the membership issue. |
| I joined in 2006 and its the nicest gun range in the Des Moines metro. Get on the waiting on the list. One visit a month easily pays your dues compared to other ranges that charged by the hour. I usually only go on the weekends and its usually not too bad. Range safety feels questionable at times since each shooter has to watch out for the fellow shooters. I never had a bad experience though. I only get out about once every three months, but I like paying my dues and supporting them. Also, being a member at the range makes you eligible for CMP purchases I believe. |
