Some people dont think the rules apply to them went to go shooting today and the only other guy there on the pistol only range is walking down range and shooting a rifle.
Attempted to contact DNR and they tell me to call 911 WTF. No one home at DNR house at the end of the road. some peoples children ETA headed back out in hopes he is done and gone if he is still there I guess I will have to go the 911 route. |

Quoted:
Were the "walking down range" and the "shooting a rifle" happening concurrently? Was it a pistol caliber rifle? Was he endangering anyone, or getting in your way / inconveniencing you, or were his actions merely malum prohibitum? he was walking and shooting at the same time it was an ar15 in .223 as far as I could tell and yes it was preventing me from using the range as I could not shoot with him downrange. As far as endangering anyone just himself but it would have required me to break range rules to use the range as intended with this guy past the firing line. |

Quoted: I would have absolutly no problem with what he was doing while the range was empty. But when people showed up I would expect him to move. The bold part is the problem that I have with the guy.South side. The one that was recently put up for pistol shooting. I don't believe he was law enforcement because when notified him it was pistol only he asked if I was LEO or DNR I answered no and he just kinda went well hmpf and continued what he was doing. |

So I guess its okay to shoot rifles at a pistol only range you need "permission" to shot at which has recently put a bunch of restrictions on how far you can set targets downrange and actually had to put up a sign that said not to put targets on the top of the berm.
Check. |
| I feel better about him having a rifle on the pistol range, something I've seen nearly every trip to Matsell, than someone calling the DNR before having the courtesy of of talking to a fellow shooter or calling 911 in a non emergency. The berms are the same on both sides and I've never seen anything posted stating the the pistol range is pistol only. |

There are three ranges now the 50 yard range is for pistols only and a giant board at the entrance stating for pistols only and firing is to be done at the bench only and a host of other rules this guy was ignoring. They recently put restrictions in place so at the 100yard range you could not place a target closer than 25 yard and at the 200 yard range you could not place a target inside 50 yards. I did inform him the range was for pistols only he asked if I was DNR or LEO when I told him no he basically said tough shit and continued what he was doing which was breaking just about every rule that range has. If you are the only one there sure walk down range and shoot wont bother me none but when someone shows up use the range as intended. Don't shoot a rifle on a pistol range its asking to have the place shutdown which they have threatened to do when they put the restrictions in place. |
