Has any fellow Iowans built a lower with the 0% forgings? I have many years experience in manual machining. My old bridgeport is looking for another project.  Do I need to buy one of the drill jigs or can I just indicate the forging in and go from there? Basically if I can get a good quality blueprint I should be able to make one from scratch.. Any ideas-help-tips-etcetc

you can get the schematics from a number of sources, but bigger hammer has them.  either method can work to block out the part and then run it...

I think Armalite still sells lower receiver forgings too.

Thanks guys. I tried armalite and they didn't have any in stock but will email and see if they can get them. My son and I are going to order a few so we can have one dedicated for .22 and one dedicated to either 7.62x25 or 45acp. Thanks again.

You might also check with Tom and Jeremy at Rhine Group in Ankeny.  They are stocking Armalite dealers and may be able to help you out.  Give 'em a call at 515-963-3484.  Good guys to deal with.
